As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages in accordance with Section 7(1) of the German Data Protection Act (DDG) and general legislation. However, under Sections 8 to 10 of the DDG, we are not obliged to monitor third-party information that is transmitted or stored, nor are we required to investigate circumstances that might indicate unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information in accordance with general laws remain unaffected by this. However, liability in this regard is only possible from the time we become aware of a specific legal infringement. Should we become aware of any such infringements, we will remove the content immediately.
We are closely monitoring developments in the field of European cybersecurity legislation. Following a thorough review, VPD GmbH does not currently fall within the scope of the NIS2 Directive (EU 2022/2555) or the national implementing legislation (NIS2UmsuCG). The reason for this is that we fall below the legally defined thresholds for the number of employees and annual turnover in accordance with the European Commission’s definition of an SME. Notwithstanding the lack of statutory regulation, we base our security measures on current standards to ensure the protection of our data and the integrity of our services for our customers.
Our website contains links to external third-party websites over whose content we have no control. We therefore cannot accept any liability for this external content. The respective provider or operator of the linked pages is always responsible for their content. The linked pages were checked for possible legal infringements at the time the links were created. No illegal content was identifiable at the time the links were created. However, it is not reasonable to expect us to monitor the content of the linked pages on an ongoing basis without concrete evidence of a legal infringement. Should we become aware of any legal infringements, we will remove such links immediately.
