Data protection

1. General

1.1

VPD is the responsible body within the meaning of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and at the same time a service provider within the meaning of the Telemedia Act (TMG).

1.2

VPD takes data protection seriously. Your data is used in accordance with legal regulations. You can obtain comprehensive information about them.

2. Personal data

2.1

Personal data within the meaning of these data protection regulations is detailed information about your personal and factual circumstances and is collected when creating a customer account (inventory data, section 2.2) and when processing an order (contract data, section 2.3).

2.2

Inventory data is personal data that is provided when creating a customer account and stored by VPD. This data includes: customer number, title, first and last name, company name, VAT ID number, address, telephone number and e-mail address.

2.3

Contract data is personal data that is necessary to establish, modify or terminate the contractual relationship with you. In addition to the data specified in section 2.2, this also includes delivery address, usage data, contract billing and payment data.

2.4

Personal data also includes information about your use of the VPD website. In this respect, the regulations under Sections 7. and 8 apply.

3. Use of data

3.1

VPD collects, stores and uses your personal data in accordance with Section 2.1 to establish, implement and change the contractual relationship.

3.2

VPD processes and uses your personal data in accordance with Section 2.1 for advertising purposes only if you have consented to this.

4. Duration of data storage

Your personal data in accordance with Section 2.1 will be deleted immediately after termination of the contractual relationship or after expiry of the legal periods (§257, 261 HGB/ §147 AO), unless there is a legal requirement for further processing, in particular the storage of the data, or the express permission of the law or from you.

5. Transfer to third parties

5.1

VPD uses your personal data in accordance with Section 2.1 exclusively to enable you to use VPD's services. In no case will VPD disclose your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes in accordance with Section 2.1 or otherwise pass it on to third parties outside of the fulfilment of VPD's contractual obligations.

5.2

VPD employees are required to maintain confidentiality regarding personal data in accordance with Section 2.1.

5.3

Personal data will only be passed on to third parties in accordance with Section 2.1 if this is necessary to fulfill the contract (e.g. to delivery companies, payment processing companies, etc.). If VPD then has to share data with third parties, VPD will only do so on condition that they commit themselves to VPD to protect your data.

5.4

Your personal data will also be passed on in accordance with Section 2.1 insofar as VPD is legally obliged to provide this data. However, VPD will immediately inform you of this.

6. Credit check

6.1

For the purpose of checking your creditworthiness with credit agencies, VPD will obtain and process information about personal data from you that is already known in accordance with Section 2.1, insofar as this is necessary to protect VPD's legitimate interests and does not affect your legitimate interests as a result. The data transmitted in this way is used and processed exclusively for this purpose. You can obtain information about the stored data concerning him from the respective credit agency.

6.2

The information is obtained from the following credit agency: BÜRGEL DRESDEN SCHARF GMBH, Dohnaer Str. 45, 01219 Dresden.

6.3

VPD points out that there are separate data protection regulations for the storage and transfer of data by the above-mentioned credit agency. You can obtain information from the above-mentioned credit agency about the stored data concerning you. You can ask VPD for the relevant branch offices.

7. Cookies

7.1

A cookie is text information that can be stored in the browser on the user's device about a visited website. 8. Log files

8.1

Each time a user accesses the VPD pages and each time a file is retrieved, general information about this process is stored in a log file.

In detail, the following data set is saved for each retrieval:

  • IP address,
  • date and time of retrieval,
  • the website from which you came to the requested page (referrer),
  • amount of data transferred and
  • Product and version information about the browser used and the
  • Operating system of the device you are using.

This raw data will be deleted after 30 days. The IP address is only stored for the time you use the website and is then immediately deleted or anonymized by abbreviation.

8.2

VPD does not link page views and uses stored in the server log to individual people. Storage is used for data security and error analysis.

9. Google Analytics

9.1

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data from Google. We have also added the “anonymizeIp” code to Google Analytics on this website. This guarantees that your IP address is masked so that all data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there.

10. Contact form

Data submitted via the contact form, including your contact details, is stored in order to be able to process your request or to be available for follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on without your consent.

The data entered in the contact form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. An informal notification by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of the data processing operations carried out up to the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Data submitted via the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or there is no longer any need to store data. Mandatory legal provisions — in particular retention periods — remain unaffected.

11. Data backup

All information that you submit to VPD is stored on servers within the Federal Republic of Germany. VPD points out that the transmission of information over the Internet is not completely secure, which is why VPD cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the Internet to VPD's website. All data stored on VPD servers is protected by technical and organizational measures (e.g. security systems connected in series) against loss, destruction, access, alteration or distribution by unauthorized persons.
